Our Broken Group Islands Wildlife Cruise departs from Whiskey Landing Marina in Ucluelet. As we cruise down Ucluelet inlet you'll learn about the history and meet local residents such as black bears, California sea lions and Bald eagles. (Photo courtesy of John Mair)
Upon leaving Ucluelet Inlet we enter Barkley Sound where we look for wildlife. We provide a pair of binoculars for each guest. We mostly see humpback whales, we regularly see grey whales and on occasion we see killer whales (Orcas).
We always see sea lions, both Steller sea lions and California sea lions,
we see harbour seals
and look for Ollie the sea otter.
We continue on to the Broken Group Islands
which are part of Pacific Rim National Park.
In these sheltered waters
we travel past many islands
and through some of the narrow channels
