Broken Group Islands – Info & Tour Route
Whales, Wildlife & Spectacular Scenery
Broken Group Islands
The Broken Group Islands are an isolated section of the Pacific Rim National Park, and little wonder they were included. There are over a hundred islands and islets, untouched except for fading traces of 5000 years of native habitation. Thrust upwards at the end of the last ice age, the rugged bedrock contrasts with the clear still water. Set against the wild Pacific coast, we cruise with the vantage of sheltered bays and narrow channels. The nutrient rich waters kick off a chain of life from plankton and kelp to sea lions and whales. On our day trip we choose one of the many quiet bays to anchor for lunch. It is hard to imagine dining in a more beautiful or pristine setting.
