2024 Season is Off to a Good Start

We’ve been open since early May, thrilled to back on the water, cruising through the breathtaking scenery of the Broken Group Islands. Wildlife sightings have been good, we’ve enjoyed meeting guests from all over the world and we hope that you will join us too!

Otterly Adorable

It is such a treat to see sea otters on a daily basis. We see single otters as well as mothers with pups, and Grampa Otto is always a highlight. Unfortunately he is often “on vacation” for a few days, but more often than not he is entertaining his beloved human guests!

Range of the Brown Pelican

Barkley Sound lies at the northern end of the range of Brown Pelicans, so once in a while we’re lucky enough to see them. It is always a treat when we do!

And so the 2022 Season has begun

We are now open for the 2022 Season!  We’ve been out on a couple of tours and have thoroughly enjoyed being out on these waters after a long winter off.

Don’t miss the opportunity to join us for a day of wildlife viewing and breathtaking scenery. Our award winning tour follows a scenic route through the sheltered waters of the Broken Group Islands where you’ll be served you a delicious gourmet lunch while anchored in a sheltered cove, meal prepared by Heartwood Kitchen Restaurant in Ucluelet.

Have a look through our website to book or find out more about our tours.

Sights, Sounds and Smells to Look Forward To

Steller sea lions

Needless to say, we don’t take our guests ashore on this particular island. But if you do come on a tour with us we will show you this and other spectacular sights in beautiful Barkley Sound, June being a particularly good time to watch this “scene” unfold.

We hope to see you when the time is right 🙂

2020 Opening Date Postponed

Our season usually starts on May 1st, however this year, due to COVID-19, we will remain closed until further notice.   We are monitoring the situation closely and will post an update once we have new information regarding a possible opening date.

We look forward showing you the incredible wildlife and scenery of our beautiful area as soon as it if safe to do so.

Until then, please stay home and stay safe!

Great Week on the Water

Last week was a good one for us in terms of wildlife sightings. We saw a Gray whale one day, a Humpback the next, then a group of Orcas and we also saw a healthy Black Bear sow with her TRIPLETS a couple of time. Most days we saw sea otters, all this along with the “usual” sightings of sea lions, seals, a multitude of eagles and other sea birds.

End of Season

Our 2018 season has come to an end. The last few days have been close to perfect so we are pleased that it ended on such a high note. Do stay tuned as there will be more adventures to come as of May 2019!

Perfect October Days

The last few days have been glorious, the kind of conditions we hope for all year:

Fabulous weather and great sightings over the last few days.

Still Cruisin’

Cruising through breathtaking scenery on a fine day – what more could a person want! The good news is that it is not too late – we’re open until Oct. 14th.
